What Label collects, and why.
What Label collects from stores, their teams and their shoppers, what it's used for, who processes it, how long it's kept, and how to reach us. Last updated 25 October 2026.
Who we are
Label makes the widget that answers shoppers’ questions on product pages.
This policy covers the getlabel.ai website, the Label dashboard (including the Label app inside Shopify admin), and the Label widget on the stores that use it. In it, “Label”, “we” and “us” mean the team that runs getlabel.ai. You can reach us at privacy@getlabel.ai.
For the people who run a store and use our dashboard, we decide how their data is used. For shoppers who use the widget on a store, the store decides: we handle that data on the store’s behalf and only to run the widget for it.
Stores and their teams
What we hold when you use Label for your store.
- Your account
Your email address and name. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, also the profile picture they share. In Shopify admin, your Shopify staff ID, name and email, from Shopify.
- Signing in
A sign-in cookie that lasts 7 days, and the IP address and browser type of each signed-in session. Sign-in links work once and expire after 15 minutes. Inside Shopify admin there’s no cookie: Shopify vouches for you.
- Your store
Your products (titles, descriptions, options, prices, stock, ratings), the product pages we read on your own domain, the knowledge and voice settings you add, and the summaries and answers Label writes from them.
- Your team
The email addresses and roles of the people you invite.
- Support
The messages you send us from the dashboard’s Support page.
- Billing
Your plan, trial, charges and invoices. Payments are taken by Polar or, for Shopify stores, by Shopify. We never see card numbers.
We email you sign-in links, team invites, credit-usage alerts, trial reminders and replies to your support messages, from hello@mail.getlabel.ai. We don’t send marketing email.
Label never receives your customers’ details or your orders. The Shopify app reads your products and stock, plus the name and email of whoever opens it in Shopify admin, to sign them in. The WooCommerce plugin sends no customer or order data.
Shoppers
People who use the widget on a store don’t sign in, and aren’t tracked across sites.
- No cookies
The widget sets no cookies. It keeps a random ID for the browser tab in session storage, which the browser clears when the tab closes, and, after a human check, a pass that lasts 30 minutes.
- What the widget sends
The product you’re looking at, the page’s language, the questions you tap or type, your ratings of answers, and simple usage events (such as a summary viewed or a question tapped), each with the tab’s ID. On stores that add Label with a script tag, also the page address, with tracking parameters removed.
- What you type
Before a typed question is stored or sent to the AI, email addresses and runs of nine or more digits are replaced. Questions are cut at 200 characters. Please don’t type personal details into the widget.
- Your IP address
Used to deliver the widget and to protect it from abuse. Rate limits use only the network part of the address. A one-way hash of that part is kept for up to two days to count questions per network, and the full address is passed to Cloudflare when a human check appears. Usage statistics record neither the address nor where you are.
- The human check
After a few typed questions, a human check from Cloudflare (Turnstile) may appear, so bots can’t run up the store’s bill.
- Shared answers
When Label answers a question, the answer is saved with the question so the next shopper who asks something similar gets it straight away. Saved answers aren’t linked to who asked.
Our servers keep only a one-way hash of the tab’s ID. Questions about your data as a shopper are best sent to the store, which can ask us to act; you can also write to us at privacy@getlabel.ai.
Visitors to getlabel.ai
No analytics, no ads, no tracking.
The website loads no analytics or advertising scripts, and its fonts and images are served from getlabel.ai itself. The only cookies are for signing in, and they’re set only when you sign in. The dashboard remembers your last store, account and plan choice in your browser’s local storage. The widget demos on this site make no network calls.
How it’s used
To run Label, keep it safe, and bill for it. Nothing else.
- To provide Label
Writing and showing summaries and answers, and running your dashboard. This is what you sign up for.
- To keep it safe
Rate limits, human checks and logs, to stop abuse and fix faults. This is in our and our stores’ legitimate interest.
- To bill and keep records
Charging for plans and credits, and keeping the records tax law requires.
- To write to you
The account emails listed above.
We don’t sell personal data, share it for advertising or build profiles of shoppers. A store’s data is used only for that store: it’s sent to the AI only to write that store’s summaries and answers. We don’t use it to train AI models.
Who processes it
The companies Label runs on.
- Cloudflare
Hosting, storage, the AI Gateway, embeddings (Workers AI), the human check (Turnstile), sending email, and logs.
- Anthropic
The Claude AI model that writes summaries and answers, reached through Cloudflare’s AI Gateway with request logging off.
- Polar
Payments, invoices and sales tax, as the seller of record for stores that don’t pay through Shopify.
- Shopify
For stores using the Shopify app: install, products, and billing on the Shopify invoice.
- Google, GitHub
Sign-in, only if you choose to sign in with them.
Cloudflare serves Label from its global network, so data may be processed in countries other than yours, including the United States, under each provider’s data processing terms.

Shopify stores
What the Shopify app can see.
The Shopify app asks only to read products and stock. When you open Label in Shopify admin, Shopify tells us your staff account’s name and email so we can sign you in. Label holds no data about your customers, so Shopify’s customer data requests and customer deletion requests have nothing to return or delete. When you uninstall the app, the widget stops at once and your store’s data is deleted 30 days later.
Your rights
Ask, and we’ll act on it.
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, get a copy, or object to how we use it. Write to privacy@getlabel.ai, or, if you run a store, use the Support page in your dashboard. We’ll answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
We don’t sell or share personal information as California law defines it. Label isn’t meant for children under 16 and doesn’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes and contact
We’ll date every change.
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. If a change matters to how we use your data, we’ll email the stores that use Label before it takes effect. How we keep data safe is on the security page. Questions about privacy: privacy@getlabel.ai.
